Gateway to Abdominal Development
Abdominal development is the dream target of many people in a world where how you appear to others is crucial. The spurt of media showing well shaped people and their success stories have created ferment in the society and resulted in a craving to look smart. In fact our body is the ultimate communication tool we have. More than the cosmetic value of an attractive body, the benefit of having robust health help us to relish the world and live our days on earth in vibrant enthusiasm. The lure for acquiring a body that is healthy and pleasing to the view supported by holistic total fitness plans has benefited many.
The crux of the scientific truth towards the so called six pack abs is centered on fat reduction around the stomach, appropriate nutritional support and a few simple exercises. The ideal abdominal development is centered on this three fold plan. Many people have abdominal muscles that are laced with an unhealthy layer of ugly fat. So the first task is fat reduction. All human abdominal muscles are somewhat similar in structure with the normal size differences that are part of normal human variances.
The appropriate nutritional support involves avoiding of unhealthy diet habits and substituting it with a scientific diet. Once that is done the fat around the belly slowly melts away. This is like the pealing an orange that make the supple layers of fruit visible to us with their alluring contours and tempting succulence. Once this is achieved a regular viable exercise regime mostly dependent on limited mechanical devices would do the trick for most us. This is in a way the gateway to abdominal development.
It is good at this juncture to brush up the anatomy of human abdominal muscles. The six pack abs with their well marked contours and projected rotundity is nothing but the well toned muscles of the abdomen which are well guarded by tendons that impart strength to the stomach. Once the lard around the belly melts away the muscles show forth then only abdominal development possible.
In nature’s original plan man was supposed to lead an active life. The Bible ordained man to work and live: to till it keep it. Unfortunately modern man instead of fighting it out with the elements now fights it out in the concrete jungles of modern mega polis. The result is flabby muscles and protruding belly. To make matters worse there is the daily quota of junk food. Effective abdominal development indeed presupposes certain basic adherence to the primordial nature of man. This means a life style mimicking our hunter ancestors in the modern day context.
An aesthetic approach to our body is the right psychological attitude that gives gusto to our lives. The adage a sound mind in a sound body is timeless wisdom. Once we hold on to this philosophy of reverence to our own body we have discovered the gateway to abdominal development that leads to glorious shape and vibrant health.

Anatomy of the Indian Elephant $16.98 Purchase of this book includes free trial access to www.million-books.com where you can read more than a million books for free. This is an OCR edition with typos. Excerpt from book: backwards cannot be altered, as the thyroid cartilage is thereby prevented from being approximated to the hyoid bone. . . . An elephant can, as the quotations sufficiently prove, withdraw water from his Fig. 2.?E, E, pharyngeal pouch. F, superior constrictor. G, stylo-glossus. H, hyo-glossus. K, small muscle, which diminishes the depth of the pharyngeal pouch. L, genio-glossus muscle. (For the use of the woodcuts of figs. 1 and 2 we are indebted to Professor Turner.) stomach in two ways: first, it may be regurgitated directly into the nasal passages 1 by the action of the diaphragm and abdominal muscles, the soft palate being at the same time depressed, so as to prevent the entrance of water into the mouth. Having in this manner filled the large nasal passages communicating with the trunk, the water contained in them is then forced through the trunk by means of a powerful expiration; or, in the second place, the water may be withdrawn from the cavity of the mouth by means of the trunk inserted into it. Now, in this case, it is manifestly impossible that the water can be contained within the cavity of the mouth itself, as I have already shown that the lips in the elephant are so formed as effectually to prevent this. The water regurgitated is, however, by means of the elevation of the soft palate, forced into the pharyngeal pouch. The superior aperture of this pouch being much narrower than the diameter of the pouch itself, and being completely surrounded by the muscular fibres of the stylo-glossus on each side, and the root of the tongue in front, which is prolonged backwards so as to form a free sharp margin, we have thus as it were a narrow aperture surrounded by a sphincter muscle, into which the trunk being inserted and grasped above its dilated extremity by the sphinc… |

The Abdominal Brain and Automatic Visceral Ganglia $32.48 General Books publication date: 2009 Original publication date: 1899 Original Publisher: The Clinic Pub. Co. Subjects: Sympathetic nervous system Medical / Neurology Medical / Neuroscience Notes: This is a black and white OCR reprint of the original. It has no illustrations and there may be typos or missing text. When you buy the General Books edition of this book you get free trial access to Million-Books.com where you can select from more than a million books for free. Excerpt: CHAPTER II. A CLASSIFICATION OF DISEASES WHICH MAY BELONG IN THE DOMAIN OF THE SYMPATHETIC NERVES. "A man’s power is hedged in by necessity, which, by many experiments, he touches on every side, until he learns its ait." — Ralph Waldo Emerson. We here present the classification of diseases considered to belong to the domain of the sympathetic nerve by various writers. The classification has no hard or fast lines, but we present it for the purpose of getting a general or bird’s-eye view of the field of the sympathetic. The field of definite action, physiologic, anatomic or pathologic, of the cerebro- spinal and sympathetic nerves, is not yet settled. The pathology of the sympathetic must rest on its physiologic paths. Physiology, with our present limited anatomical means of tracing nerve fibers, is surer than anatomy. It is difficult to make a satisfactory classification of diseases of the sympathetic, for a multitude of symptoms reasonably depending on the sympathetic nerves are encountered without our being able, by minute examination, to recognize the morbid process. Their chief manifestation is reflex action, referred disturbance. Again, many sympathetic nerves, and especially ganglia, are found s. clerosed, pigmented or possessed of increased connective tissue, at the autopsy, yet the patient left no records of physical complaints during life. Hence, it is difficult to trace back, in such cases, the interpretations of nature’s physiologic experiment. Also, one is not always… |
