A few questions about yoga?

hii.. I am 22 year old girl and lately I have been practicing yoga(not regularly though) through a website called yogatic.com. The instructor posts the videos which I follow.

The problem is that I have a 30 inch waist and am 5.5 feet tall. I am unable to do the exercises which she does at ease. my shoulder and neck start paining wen i do certain postures.. Am i doing it the wrong way?

Can I really reduce my stomach if i follow those exercises?

Also, i have a small projection towards the back of my neck.. not projection, but its more like a fat deposit. i think it is due to the lack of exercise.. can you suggest anything for this?
and if possible please suggest any more exercises to reduce my tummy. Thanks a lot people!!!

Anytime you start something new, it will be hard, and you probably won’t be very good at it. That’s why they say “practice makes perfect.” This is true with Yoga especially. You really have to be patient with yourself. Do your best, even if you aren’t nailing the form straight on, just do the best you can. If something is causing you pain, back off, adjust the pose, or don’t do it. Here’s something that I always remember- do you know who Hugh Jackman is? Well, he’s an actor right? Wolverine in the X-Men movies and stuff. Well, for his movie “The Fountain” he had to hold the lotus position. (Where you sit cross legged, but each foot is up on the thigh). Now, Hugh Jackman seems like a really fit guy, right? Well, it took him 6 months of training to be able to do that position. So, it’s not just you that struggles. Everyone has to practice to get better.
