Stomach fat can be extremely dangerous, since it can increase your risk factors for a number of medical conditions. Some of those conditions include heart disease, strokes and high blood pressure. First, you have to learn to eat properly. That means that you can’t starve yourself. There are a lot of calorie-cutting diets out there and they always end in disaster. The reason for that is that your metabolism can’t work at an efficient rate when it has no fuel to burn.

Since your body needs a steady supply of fuel, a good rule is to eat a small meal every 2 to 3 hours. That will amount to about 5 or 6 meals per day. Also, each meal should be made up of filling and nutritious foods. Those should include lean proteins, complex carbohydrates and fiber-filled foods, such as citrus fruits.

Second:

Second, you need to stay active, if you want your stomach fat to go away. Stomach fat can be particularly stubborn and it’s nearly impossible to specifically target it. Therefore, the best thing to do is get a lot of general exercise.

The best way to increase your activity level, especially if you are a busy person, is to incorporate more activity into your routine. You can do that by using stairs more often than elevators, walking anywhere within walking distance instead of driving and making sure that you get up and stretch a bit several times a day, if you have a desk job.

It’s even better if you can actually spare some time for a daily exercise routine. You can do some light exercises while watching TV or you can go to a gym. It’s up to you. Just be sure to get both some strength training and some cardiovascular workouts in each week.

Cheat A Bit:

Finally, it may seem counterproductive, but you need to cheat a bit. Once a week, have one meal that you enjoy, regardless of how unhealthy it may be. Just remember to keep it small and controlled.

For example, have one slice of pizza, not an entire pizza. Cheating once a week will prevent you from having cravings that cause binge eating. Thus, in the long run, it’s a great way to help yourself to get rid of stomach fat.
