Liposuction and tummy tuck are perfect ways to reshape your body!   by Jhoana Cooper

Looks are esensial these days, and women are known to do everything they can to obtain perfection. Exercising and running are exhausting and take time, so women resort to surgery, such as liposuction and tummy tuck, both painful, but both with imediat results. Although these measures are extreme, more and more women consider it to be their best option to enhance their self-image.

Liposuction is a surgical procedure that removes excess fat from areas of the body via small, hollow instruments called cannulas. It is best suited to removing localised deposits of fat from the hips, tummy, waist or thighs, but it is a technique for improving body shape rather than helping with weight loss. This is because liposuction has better results on patients who are not overweight, but who have localised deposits of fat and the elasticity of the skin as the skin will need to adapt to a new contour when the underlying fat is removed.

A tummy tuck, or abdominoplasty, is a commonly performed surgery that tightens weak or stretched muscles and removes excess skin, creating a flat and toned abdomen. The procedure helps to tighten the loose skin and fat of the abdominal wall, particularly around the navel, through the controlled removal and elevation of skin and fat in this area. In some cases this leaves loose skin and fat and despite diet and exercise it can be difficult to get back to the shape you once had. In these instances tummy tuck may be helpful.

Prior to the development of liposuction, the only real surgical alternative in the diet and exercise – resistant case was the tummy tuck. The tummy tuck procedure is still performed, but liposuction is a better alternative for most patients.

The tummy tuck involves the removal of a large amount of skin from the lower abdomen. However, because of skin shrinkage which occurs following liposuction, there is rarely a need to remove the excess skin of the abdomen. For most patients, the problem of excess fat in the lower abdomen is more of an issue than excess skin. However, the amount of skin shrinkage after liposuction of the lower abdomen is usually substantial.

Whether you need a liposuction or a tummy tuck remember that these procedures must only be made if necessary and must not be considered as a fast way to loose weight.
